Cosmetic Dentistry

The transforming results we create with all-ceramic crowns, porcelain veneers, tooth-colored composite materials (to replace silver amalgam fillings), composite tooth bonding, and teeth whitening can restore a youthful appearance to your smile and enhance your feeling of well-being and self-confidence.

All-Ceramic Crowns
Palm Beach Prosthodontics is at the forefront in using zirconia-based restorations designed and manufactured with computer-aided technology. In function and appearance, our zirconia-based crowns far surpass porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns for cosmetic applications. Using our own Zircore™ cores, we create all-ceramic restorations for front and back teeth—crowns without the fragility of other all-ceramic materials or the dark gum line shadows and opaque appearance of porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns. This technology is poised to revolutionize the dental laboratory industry and offers an incomparable choice for our patients. CAD/CAM engineering assures a precision fit, while the zirconia cores enable us to provide crowns unrivaled in durability and esthetic excellence.

Porcelain Veneers
Thin laminates of ceramic that are bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth can alter and improve their esthetic appearance by changing their shape and color—covering deep stains, restoring small fractures, correcting minor misalignment problems. Porcelain is a very hard and stain-resistant material with a high degree of translucency, making it an ideal choice for improving and enhancing the individual characteristics of your smile.

Tooth-Colored Composite and Ceramic Restorations
Advances in dental materials have produced substances that mimic the appearance and wear of natural teeth. Composite and ceramic restorations can replace worn or leaky fillings. They are matched to the natural shade of your teeth and bonded to the underlying tooth structure, creating a strong, functional and beautiful restoration.

Composite Tooth Bonding
Composite dental materials can be bonded to the natural enamel in order to correct chipped, cracked, discolored or misaligned teeth. Bonding procedures can change the shape, contour, and color of teeth in order to improve the esthetic appearance of your smile.

Teeth Whitening (Bleaching)
Dental bleaching can improve many cases of discoloration that may be the result of staining, natural aging, or chemical damage to the teeth. Current bleaching methods safely help you create a whiter, brighter smile. For patients wishing an in-office approach, we offer the Zoom II Professional Teeth Whitening System.

Although cosmetic dentistry is not a recognized specialty within dentistry, it is an integral aspect of restorative care. Cosmetic services are most successfully provided by a skilled, experienced Prosthodontist or by a General Dentist who has received comprehensive restorative and esthetic training in an accredited program. Some dentists who promote themselves as cosmetic specialists have had no advanced training or only limited unaccredited courses in cosmetic reconstruction. But frequently, what appears to be a cosmetic problem actually requires a functional restoration in order to achieve a pleasing, predictable outcome. A quick-fix treatment that is superficially attractive but functionally unstable is destined to fail. Our advanced training enables us to not only restore the beauty of your smile but also restore or improve your oral function. We are dedicated to the principle that establishing and maintaining your oral health is fundamental to giving you a lasting, beautiful smile.
