Bernard E. Keough, DMD

Educational Excellence
Dr. Bernard Keough graduated Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry, graduating second in his class. There he was honored with the Academy of General Dentistry Award, and the American Academy of Gold Foil Operators Achievement Award for excellence in restorative dentistry. Following active duty in the United States Air Force, Dr Keough graduated from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry receiving his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Prosthetic Dentistry.

International Recognition
Dr. Keough has presented his clinical findings at international symposia in Germany, Italy, and Spain, and at meetings and study clubs in the United States. He has authored highly acclaimed articles for publications including The International Journal of Periodontic & Restorative Dentistry and Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry.

Noted Textbook Author
Dr. Keough, with Dr. Kay and periodontists Marvin M. Rosenberg and Robert L. Holt, co-wrote a landmark dental reconstruction textbook that is being used in dental schools today. He also authored a chapter on prosthetic dentistry in the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry.

Industry Leader
Dr. Keough is a renowned specialist in dental esthetics and full-mouth reconstruction. He has extensive experience in complex restorations and helping patients whose cases have failed through the attempts of previous providers. Together with Dr. Kay, Dr. Keough is a pioneer in the use of CAD/CAM technology to establish BIO-HIP Zirconia as the material of choice for the creation of superb, natural-looking all-ceramic crowns and bridges. In his article in the January 2006 issue of Practical Procedures & Aesthetic Dentistry, Dr. Keough documents his use of BIO-HIP Zirconia in an advanced case.

Educational Innovator
At Nova Southeastern University School of Dentistry, Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professors Drs. Keough and Kay established the curriculum for the school’s first Periodontal-Prosthetic program.
